About

I have been honoured to represent the people of the Limerick City Constituency as a Labour Party T.D. since 1998.

During that time I have served as Minister of State for Trade and Development and for Housing and Planning and as Minister for Education and Skills. I am currently Party spokesperson on Housing, Planning and Local Government and on Business, Enterprise and Innovation.

As a Teachta Dála, I am a messenger for the people in the Dáil. Whether in Government or opposition, I always work to make a positive difference for Limerick and the people who have elected me to represent them.

I live in Corbally with my husband Paul and we have two adult children and four superhero grandchildren!

What spare time I have is spent mainly with family, climbing the hills with friends and attending the many cultural, community and sporting events around Limerick. I especially love being part of the 16th man in Thomond Park.

As a Labour T.D., I am committed to Equality, Solidarity and a Fairer Ireland.
